Bundle up and head to the Newton Centre Green this Friday evening as WinterFEST bursts to life! Think glistening ice sculptures, a live carving show that feels straight out of a winter fairytale, and music floating through the air from a cappella groups.
- 5:10 pm ~ BC Accoustics
- 5:30 pm ~ Newton North Melocotones
- 5:45 pm ~ The Highland Glee Club Men’s Chorus
- 6:15 pm ~ Newton South Newtones
Brighter Ignited’s interactive art will sprinkle a little extra magic around the Green while you sip free hot chocolate, savor warm churros from Tango Mango, wave your glow stick like it’s a mini winter wand, and enjoy the hula hoop performer. And yes, Olaf from Frozen will be there for frosty high‑fives and photos! Officer Leo, the Newton Police Department’s beloved Service/Comfort dog, will also be making the rounds, happily accepting pats and love from fans of all ages.
You’ll also have the chance to donate a blanket to Welcome Home’s Blanket Drive. To donate, please bring new or gently used full, queen or king blankets (no rips or stains) to the Newton Centre Green and drop off at the Welcome Home bin on Friday, January 23 from 5-6:30pm. Welcome Home is a Newton non-profit providing families experiencing hardship with high quality household items.
